Laser Vascular Lesions
About Treatment
Varicose and spider veins are blood vessels that become enlarged and visible due to weakened valves, which cause blood to pool rather than flow to the heart. Harmony’s vascular treatments offer an effective, none-invasive solution that close these veins and reduce or eliminate their appearance.
Benefits
Using advanced light, laser and Advanced Fluorescence Technology (AFT), Harmony targets the affected blood vessels beneath the skin, leaving you with smooth, clear skin and renewed confidence. The treatments are safe and effective and provide reliable, long term results.

Laser Vascular Lesions Treatment
Once the target chromophore has been determined (either melanin for pigment or Haemoglobin for veins and redness) it will be treated using the DYE VL handpiece which selectively targets the chromophore while keeping surrounding tissue intact. The contact cooling on the handpiece ensures that the treatment is as comfortable as possible, and we can cool the area before and after treating. The target is destroyed by the and is broken down by the body and gradually filtered out over time.

We offer individual treatments, but we recommend starting off with a course. Most people achieve results after 1 session but best results after 3. These will be spaced 4 weeks apart.
As with all laser treatments, you need to stay out of the sun and wear an SPF to achieve the best results and make sure your skin is protected.
The treated area may feel warm with some redness immediately afterwards, but this will diminish rapidly. There may be some darkening of pigment or veins which is a good sign that the laser has broken down the root cause. This will disperse and dissolve over the coming weeks.
You may need to apply a cooling pack to your skin for the first few hours after treatment, to help reduce any discomfort.
We also advise you to treat your skin gently and avoid sun exposure (to minimise the possibility of hyperpigmentation or darker pigmentation)
use SPF50 sunscreen
not take a hot bath, or have exercise or heat treatments, for the first 24 hours.
All patients are required to have a 24hr patch test prior to any of our laser treatments. This is so we can quickly identify if you have sensitive skin towards laser and to avoid any adverse reactions.
We don’t recommend treatment for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or for people who suffer with an autoimmune disorder. Anyone suffering from infections, prone to keloids or undergoing cancer treatment is also advised not to have this treatment.
